Beginning January 1, 2025 there will be only one type of membership - The Annual Membership at $50/year

Your annual dues will go towards event costs as well as a fund that will provide training for those less fortunate

All community dives are FREE - we will no longer charge on a per dive basis

Instructors will no longer be present at every community dive. In all probability there will likely be one, but in this less formal structure, we encourage our community members to go out on their own. Everyone who is a Focus Freedive Member will be a verified, certified diver.

When a Focus Freedive instructor is at a community dive, it is up to them whether they will offer private instruction or not. We want our instructors to be able to have the space to have a fun dive, too! Therefore, we are opening up multiple openings with all of our instructors for you to book 1-on-1 private sessions where you can get the help that you desire. These will be listed on a calendar which we will make available to everyone.

Starting February 2025 we will have dive floats available FREE FOR MEMBERS for 24 hour rentals at Freedive Outfitters (Spear America San Diego)

2024 was a bit of an experimental year. We tried some stuff and, ultimately, decided we didn’t like charging for community dives. Focus Freedive is first and foremost a dive community, and we want to do whatever it takes to foster that community. Our solution is the Annual Membership. Your $50/year will go towards expenses for dives, events, and other fun stuff and anything left over will be funneled into scholarships that will help people get certified who might otherwise not be able to afford it.
We also want to make your participation in our community as easy as possible. So we’re streamlining community event sign ups and making it easier for you to access everything on your phone.
Current memberships will become unavailable starting DECEMBER 23, 2024.
All current paying members will receive a discount code for a free year of the Annual Membership.
All current free members (Shallow Reefers) will need to complete the membership application and pay their dues starting January 1, 2025 in order to maintain membership.
If you are not a community dive member and only need access to the membership portal in order to access your EQ course your access should not be affected. However if you run into any issues, please text Robin directly or through WhatsApp at 619-990-3575.
ALL MEMBERS will need to complete the new registration form and submit proof of certification during purchase. A screenshot of your certificate is fine.

We know that some of our members are not community divers. You should be able to access your EQ course through this transitional period. However if you run into any issues please reach out to Robin at 619-990-3575 or robin@rambledesign.biz.
During this transitional period, we will be coordinating community dives on WhatsApp. Starting January 1, 2025 you will be able to RSVP to community events through our new calendar found here on our website as well as on our app (more about that coming soon!).

We understand. That's why each and every member of Focus Freedive Community is a certified diver.
Should you ever feel unsafe with a Focus Freedive Community Member, we will have a way for you to submit that person for a safety review. We take your safety and the safety of all our community members very seriously and will be reviewing these submissions carefully. Should it be deemed necessary, a community member may be required to take a safety refresher course for $30 before joining any more community dives.
This safety refresher course will also be available once a month for anyone who wants to join at $20/person.
We would love to have you join us! We have a special week-long membership available for you that will give you access to all the benefits of our Annual membership for a short time. You can even buy it in advance and choose your start date. Please be sure to have your certificate available at the time of purchase - you will be asked to upload a copy as part of the membership form. See you out there!
